There are many sources where beautiful puppies of Weimaraners can be obtained. However, it goes without saying that the best source is a reputable Weimaraner kennel. It is a difficult task to find responsible breeders whose activities meet all the requirements.
Responsible breeders are dedicated to the Weimaraner breed. Their work is concentrated on improving the breed. Each mating is thoroughly planned, and the idea of careful and responsible breeding is primary in their activity.
Reputable breeders do not sell their puppies to anyone who expresses a desire to buy. They will want to learn if a potential buyer is able to provide the adequate care, housing, training and the amount of attention a Weimaraner requires.
Ask a breeder about the ancestry of the puppies. You should be told about strong and weak points of the litter. A breeder should be able to explain the aims and results of his breeding program. A pedigree, registration papers, medical records and references should be available for you to evaluate.
Another sign of the breeder's responsibility is the conditions in which the puppies are bred and kept. Responsible breeders produce only one or two litters a year. A female should be given time to recover. Since these breeders do not always have their purebred Weimaraners available for a purchase, you are likely to be put on a waiting list.
