Every good breeder has a breeding focus, a set of long term goals. Unlike many breeders who keep a single discipline (show, or field for example) as their focus, our focus is the versatile Weimaraner. We want dogs who excel in the show, obedience, and agility rings as well as in the field. Consequently, we strive to produce only the finest temperament for the family companion in the soundest possible dog. We are proud of the fact that many of our pups are children’s companions.
Sunset Weimaraners focus is on providing a Weimaraner free of genetic health issues. We do this by carefully selecting which dogs we breed. We do not overbreed. We strive to provide calm, well socialized, family companion Weimaraners that are also conformationally correct. Sunset Weimaraners is an approved breeder with The Blue Weimaraner Club of America!
We’ve been showing and breeding Weims for about twenty-five years. Our dogs are our family. They’re raised in our living room and sleep on our bed. It gets a little crowded sometimes. We breed versatile Weims for show, agility, field work, rally, nose work & more. Mostly though, they are loving family members.
We are Weimaraner lovers, I guess that is obvious. We have been breeding dogs since the late 60’s. The dogs that we breed are smart, mischievous, entertaining, loving and very devoted to “their people”. When we breed the highest priority is good temperament, good looks and good noses.

I strive for excellent quality by starting with an outstanding foundation bitch and improving on her qualities by selecting complimentary studs. I believe in the Weimaraner that has both correct conformation as well as a strong hunt drive.
